Cobol Developer (Remoto, Portugal)

As part of a newly established team taking over the maintenance and evolution of several applications currently managed in France, the role involves contributing to maintenance activities and project deliveries throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze business requirements and technical designs.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance applications using COBOL and Pacbase.
• Perform unit testing and support integration testing.
• Deliver application components in accordance with project plans and functional specifications.
• Analyze, develop, and configure existing and new software modules.
• Participate in application deployment and system integration.
• Ensure compliance with development standards, best practices, and documentation requirements.
• Support maintenance campaigns, issue resolution, and continuous application improvements.

• Strong experience with COBOL and Pacbase development.
• Experience in application maintenance and enhancement projects.
• Knowledge of the software development lifecycle (analysis, development, testing, deployment).
• Ability to analyze functional specifications and translate them into technical solutions.
• Familiarity with development standards, documentation, and quality practices.
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative international environment.
